A Winter Walk on the Wild Side

Saturday December 29^th.

Guided Coastal Walk from Carnsore Point to Kilmore Quay

(Taking in Lady’s Island Lake and Tacumshin Lake)

Burn off all those Christmas calories with a lovely walk across sand dunes and miles of empty sandy beach on one side and beautiful lakeshore nature reserve on the other side.

Notes

• Bus leaves Irishtown at 9.00 a.m.
• The walk finishes about three miles short of Kilmore Quay (because of tidal restrictions) and a car shuttle service will ferry walkers to Keogh’s Pub (famous for their sea food & friendly atmosphere).
• The walk is 10 miles approx. (3 – 4 hours)
• Keogh’s is an old style seafarer’s pub with a large open fire and it has a lovely seafood menu costing €10 - €20.
• Bus pick-up is at 7.00 p.m. Back in New Ross for 7.45 p.m.
• Cost of bus €10 or FREE if you take a sponsor card.
• Bookings CAN ONLY BE ACCEPTED WITH €10 or by taking a sponsor card .

You would need to bring:

1. Water proof clothing + Wooly hat , scarf, gloves.

2. Light picnic lunch inc. water.

3. A change of shirt & a towel . (in case of a wetting from the elements .

4. Suitable walking shoes or boots. Terrain is flat and sandy.
